Meet our CAP Dream 2023 winner, Ryan!

 

 

Ryan won an ALL EXPENSES PAID cultural exchange program to Au Pair in the USA!

Ryan is 18 years old and lives in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.

 

 

She LOVES the arts, cooking, writing and reading.

A fun fact about Ryan is that she has a folder in her notes app on her phone where she writes movie reviews.

 

She could spend hours watching movies and speaking about them.

Ryan took Dramatic Arts in high school and her love for any form of performing arts is a big part of who she is.

 

 

Her favourite movie is Midsommmar and her favorite actress is Florence Pugh.

 

 

If she could choose any fictional family to become a part of it would be the March family from Louisa May Alcott’s novel Little Women.

 

“I would love to have sisters and to grow up with them as the sisters in the novel do. Each sister represents an art form – Meg is performing arts, Jo is writing, Beth is music and Amy is painting. I could be art #5, the singing sister.”

 

 

Ryan also loves cooking. Some of her favourite meals to cook are omelettes and her signature sticky chicken with rice and sweet potatoes.

 

 

If she could be any animal, she will be a sea turtle.

 

“They’re so cool and calm, just swimming. I think I have a preconceived idea of sea turtles based off of the sea turtle in Nemo, which I used to watch a lot as a kid. I love any big body of water, even a bath, and I’d enjoy just swimming through the sea, being calm and having my own little house on my body.”
