Three Tips For A Stress-Free Au Pair Journey:
The easy answer?
Use CAP and never look back, but if you read on you will find the more diplomatic answer below 🙂
Just kidding. Or are we?Â
Here are three tips to make the Au Pair journey easier for yourself:
1. Make sure you read through the materials we sent you:

Nobody likes reading through endless documents – and we get that.
BUT there is important information in our documents that you must be aware of.
So, instead of just scanning through everything and hoping for the best, take the time to work through them and ask if you have questions.
This way you will understand the process and what is expected of you.
Well done for reading our blog so far – we are proud of you already!
2. Make sure you understand the fee structure.
Â

With CAP, there are no hidden costs – we are extremely upfront about everything.
When you enquire with us, we will send you a detailed brochure of the costs and the program requirements.
The costs depend on the program you are most interested in, and you will pay for the agency’s fees in steps. This ensures that you never pay for anything upfront.
With this information in mind, you will be able to budget and plan ahead – financially, because let’s be honest; we do not want anything to delay your profile.
No, CAP Sister – we want to see you abroad – happy and thriving!
3. Prepare yourself mentally – and have the correct expectations about the program:
Â

Au Pairing abroad is a challenge. You will cry, but you will also laugh harder.
It will be hard, but you will gain more than you can ever imagine – a second family.
Check-in with yourself if you are doing this for the right reasons.
Are you aware that this is a cultural exchange program and not a proper job?
Are you willing to look after children and build a relationship with them?
Are you aware that you must return to South Africa / Namibia after your visa / work permit / residence permit expires?
What is YOUR motivation? Why do you want to become an Au Pair?
If these are not the sole reasons you are becoming an Au Pair, you might set yourself up for failure and add to your stress levels.
If you are unsure, ask. We have LOTS of Au Pairs who would love to share their stories with you!!
Decrease your stress level by allowing us to help you with your Au Pair journey.
We have been in the industry for more than 10 years and know exactly how to calm your nerves.
Make your Au Pair year the best year of your life and know that CAP has your back!
